Farm Antics
It is early in the morning with the sun barely over the horizon. Picture an Aussie poised to capture a ferocious rabbit, POUNCE and it’s a huge miss…. The look of puzzlement on her face is amusing. She stops, looks all over, then at me as if to say “Hey what did ya do with it?” Thus begins the frantic search for the missing rabbit. She looks all over and to my amusement the sneaky bunny is standing still (as if frozen) about 5 feet from where she lost it. The rabbits around here seem to know that Aussies don’t have the best tracking abilities when it comes to rabbits. After a futile search she is off after something else, maybe a poor bike rider going down the road in the early morning light. Then ever so slowly the bunny un-freezes and wonders off to do whatever it is that rabbits do in the early morning. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office">
Later while I am feeding critters around here the dogs run joyously around me. I think they are really trying to see how muddy they can get me or if I’ll sit down and just rub bellies or hug on them. I have long ago discovered there is very little point in showering before I feed in the morning because I would need to do it again after I feed. Most days I don’t mind the dirt, but there are days when all I really want to do is get chores done so I can rush off to start my day. Aussies have a great way of reminding me to enjoy the early morning time with them. It helps me to appreciate the splendor of God’s amazing creations.
I know I am blessed with the many things I have in my life.
