Dog Treats!
I bought a bag of dog treats yesterday. It seems to me that the dogs have some sixth sense about them. I no sooner open the door of my car and they are all over me. Now I know they love me and are always glad when I get back from an errand, but this is crazy glad. I carried the bag to the front porch with my happy Australian Shepherds and 1 big "ol" Lab cavorting around my feet. One of these days when I do this they are going to knock me over in their enthusiasm. How will I ever explain to Wes why I broke an arm? He'll look at me and say "sure the dogs knocked you over". I can see the conversation now and the laughter he'll have at my expense! That being said it is a lot of fun watching the dogs’ excitement over a few treats. They all suddenly become your very best friend in the world. All those happy smiling faces say "I love you" "won't you please let me eat another treat and maybe your finger?" Hmm I see another conversation with Wes in the future about why his wife is missing a finger or two. Any way all dogs love to get treats. It's fun to be able to spoil them every now and then. One thing to remember about treats is they can add the calories to your dogs middle (hmm and ours as well) so if you give your dog a lot of them trim back a little on the amount of dog food you feed them. This way your dog can keep their slender figure and stay healthy in the future.Oh and I was just thinking about feeding your dog leftovers. Don't give them table food. It isn't good for them. Now if you have had steak or some kind of meat by all means give them some. Hold off on the chicken though. Chicken can have small bones and you DO NOT want your dog eating chicken bones! Ok I'm done for now... But wait one more thing (HA GOT YA!).Becky
