Top Texas Aussies

Yesterday while I was sitting at my computer desk I saw a sight straight out of a Road Runner and Wylie Coyote cartoon. In the last few years our road runner population has been coming back to us. That is a wonderful thing because they are such neat birds to look at as the run around the farm. As a rule they don't come very close to the house they hang in the pasture with the horses and donkeys. Once I even saw our mule play chase with one.Now the story. So I'm sitting here at my desk talking to Wes on the phone when out of the corner of my eye I catch Topaz in HOT PURSUIT of the road runner. I scrambled from my chair to go holler at her to stop chasing him (he was right by my window). I come out the door and the road runner had gotten by her and she was skulking off like Wylie Coyote when he has had a bad day chasing his lunch. Over all the entire look on her face was priceless. It seemed to say "I was just protecting you from the scary bird". Sure she was I think she was after a mid morning snack. I think I am going to head out and see if there is a plate full of magnetic bird seed and a magnet somewhere around here...BEEP BEEP
